Virgin’s Bimini Beach Club: what to plan and what costs extra

By Cruise.do · Updated

The short answer

On a Virgin Voyages call, you can enjoy the Beach Club without buying a cabana or excursion. Start with the included day, then add only the extras that improve it for you.

What the included day covers

Virgin’s Beach Club FAQ lists tram transport from the cruise dock, beach and pool access, facilities, food, soda, water and Wi-Fi. It lists premium drinks, cabanas and Shore Things activities as potential additional charges.

This guide concerns Virgin’s Beach Club arrangements. Do not apply those inclusions to a different cruise line’s Bimini call or a separately sold day pass. Check the product you have actually booked.

A cabana is a choice, not an admission requirement

Before paying for a cabana, decide what problem it solves. You may want a fixed meeting place, a particular seating arrangement or the convenience of staying together. Compare that value with how much of the call you expect to spend at the club.

If you also book a long excursion, the time left to use a cabana may be short. Put both reservations on a timeline before buying them. Paying for two attractive products does not guarantee enough hours to enjoy both.

For a group, check capacity and guest rules rather than assuming everyone can share one reservation. Agree who will pay and how you will divide the time before the cruise, especially if some people prefer the beach and others prefer the pool.

Keep premium drinks in the voyage budget

Virgin’s Bar Tab rules allow eligible use at Bimini as well as onboard. That is the same voyage credit, not a separate island allowance. Include the day when estimating purchases, and check the current balance before ordering.

You do not need to buy premium drinks to make use of the included club day. If a prepaid balance remains near the end of the trip, spend it only on eligible items you want rather than trying to consume its advertised value.

Choose between the club and a wider Bimini outing

Read excursion meeting points carefully. A departure at the pier is a different plan from meeting after you have already taken the tram to the club. Allow time for the transfer and for finding the group.

If exploring elsewhere, save the return instructions and check how long the trip back to the ship takes. “Bimini” on a booking is not a precise pickup location.

Pack for the day you selected: swimwear, a change of clothes if useful, your required ship identification and a way to keep essentials dry. Check the day’s programme and return transport information onboard. You can then choose when to leave without relying on a timetable remembered from someone else’s cruise.
