Maho is about the airport setting

Maho sits beside Princess Juliana Airport’s runway. That is its distinctive attraction. Choose it because you want to watch aircraft, not because a viral photograph proves it is the best place for a long, quiet swim.

Aircraft schedules and beach conditions can change. Follow posted warnings and stay clear of dangerous jet-blast areas. Do not let the desire for a particular photograph determine where you stand.

Great Bay makes a compact day

Local destination guidance places Great Bay by Philipsburg and near the cruise port. It suits a plan that combines beach time with a meal or a short look around town. You have fewer separate places to reach than on a cross-island outing.

Check how you intend to get between the pier and the beach, including the last return service if using a water taxi. Confirm the fare and what a ticket includes before boarding.

Price transport before comparing beach chairs

For Maho, agree the transport arrangement and return pickup in advance. A cheap chair rental is not the whole day's cost if reaching the beach requires a longer taxi journey. For a group, clarify whether the fare is per person or per vehicle.

If booking an island tour, check how long it stops at Maho and whether the route fits your priorities. A brief photo stop is a different product from an afternoon at the beach.

A sensible combination
