Fare packages and inclusions
Princess Plus vs Premier: is the upgrade worth it?
The short answer
Premier is most convincing when you will use its additional dining and other benefits. Start with the total upgrade cost for your cabin, then count only spending the upgrade would actually replace.

The current Princess package page distinguishes purchases made before October 13, 2026. For 2026 sailings, it says those existing benefits will be honoured. Compare your confirmation with the current offer before assuming a new table changes an older booking.
As checked October 17, 2026, advertised pre-cruise USD rates are $70 daily for Plus and $105 for Premier on most ships, or $75 and $110 on Sun Princess and Star Princess. Purchases within four days of departure or onboard cost $5 more per person per day. Use your actual quote if the currency, promotion or terms differ.

| Compare | Plus | Premier |
|---|---|---|
| Casual dining | Four meals per guest per voyage | Unlimited, subject to terms |
| Specialty dining | Not included | Included, subject to availability and terms |
| Wi-Fi devices | One per guest | Four per guest |
| Shore excursion credit | Not included | Amount depends on voyage length |
Both include crew appreciation and drinks within their respective package rules. This is a selected comparison, not the full contract. Check the linked package terms before purchasing.
Turn the upgrade into a cabin total
At a $35 daily difference, two people upgrading for seven days pay an additional $490. That is the number to compare with your likely extra spending, rather than a headline saving against the retail price of every benefit.
Write down the dinners you would otherwise buy, the extra connectivity you need and any eligible excursion credit you can actually use. Leave out benefits you would only consume because they are included. If you would happily eat in the included restaurants most nights, several specialty meals may have less personal value than their menu price suggests.
Do the same exercise for photographs and drinks. A product can be expensive separately without being something you would choose to buy. The package should fit the holiday you want, rather than persuading you to spend every day collecting benefits.
Check whether the itinerary supports the upgrade
A voyage with late port returns may leave fewer evenings for reserved dinners. A trip where you want to disconnect may make extra device access irrelevant. Discuss those choices with your cabin companion before treating the higher package as an automatic improvement.
Keep a copy of the offer at purchase, including its date and booking reference. If a benefit is the reason you upgraded, check how to reserve or redeem it before sailing. Paying for access and successfully arranging the experience are separate steps.
