Mykonos cruise port to town: New Port, tender or SeaBus?

By Cruise.do · Updated

The short answer

Confirm whether your ship docks at the New Port in Tourlos or sends you ashore by tender. If you dock at Tourlos, the SeaBus is one possible connection to town when operating. Follow the arrival arrangement for your sailing rather than a generic Mykonos walking route.

Start with the port name

The Mykonos port authority distinguishes the New Port and Old Port. Those names matter when booking a meeting point or arranging a return. A tour beginning in town may require a transfer from your cruise berth.

Save the ship's arrival details and ask an independent operator to confirm where you should meet. Do not assume a pin labelled Mykonos port refers to the same place in every app.

What the SeaBus connects

The SeaBus operator describes its service between Tourlos and Mykonos town. Check the current departure point, schedule, return service and operating conditions. A published route is not a guarantee of an immediate departure when you step off the ship.

If you need an accessible journey, ask about boarding and the approach at both ends. A short crossing can still involve practical barriers that a route map does not show.

Town or beach: choose the main outing

For a first short visit, a town walk with a meal can be a complete day. If a particular beach is the priority, organise that transfer deliberately and treat the town as an optional addition.

Avoid stacking a port transfer, a beach transfer and a tightly timed restaurant booking. Each individual journey may look simple, but together they leave less room for changes in weather, queues or the group's pace.

Keep the return instructions visible

Before wandering through town, identify the return boarding point or pickup location. Save it offline and agree on a meeting time if the group separates. Check the ship's last-return instructions if you are tendering.

Do not use the final advertised service as your only way back. Leave a realistic margin and know whom to contact if the connection changes. Mykonos can be enjoyed without an elaborate itinerary; getting the port details right is what makes the simple plan work.
